Explanation of the Calculator.
This conversion calculator uses the following simple equations.

˚L = EBC / 1.97

EBC = ˚L x 1.97

EBC is the abbreviation for the European Brewing Convention colour rating

˚L is the abbreviation for ˚Lovibond

˚L is equivalent to Standard Reference Methods (˚SRM) when using modern analysing techniques outlined by the American Society of Brewing Chemists (ASBC)

Note: Before 1990 the European Brewing Convention (EBC) used an a different method for calculating colour. Be careful when using old EBC data from books as the old and new ratings are not interchangeable.
