Brewing Calculators index page
Enter your SG, GU or ˚P value into the appropriate yellow box below and then hit
'Calculate'. (Note: SG and GU vales are calibrated to 20˚C where SG of pure
water = 1.000
at 20˚C).
Explanation of the Calculator. The following equations have been used in the above calculator: SG to GU GU = (SG - 1) x 1000 SG to ˚P ˚P = 135.997 x SG3 - 630.272 x SG2 + 1111.14 x SG -
616.868 GU to SG SG = 1000 x GU + 1 GU to ˚P Convert GU to SG and then convert SG to ˚P using the equations above. ˚P to SG SG = (˚P / 258.6 - ((˚P / 258.2) x 227.1))) + 1 ˚P to GU Convert ˚P to SG and then convert SG to GU using the equations above.
The equations used in this calculator have been adapted from the following references: Briggs DE, Boulton CA, Brookes PA, Stevens R (2004) 'Brewing - Science and Practice.' (Woodhead Publishing Limited: Cambridge) Noonan GJ (1996) 'New Brewing Lager Beer.' (Brewers Publications: Boulder, Colorado, USA)
